about

The interlopers come night and day. Starships disgorge them by the legion, and they advance without refrain. Reshaping the land out of greed, polluting the water out of indifference, and killing the mighty Fourspuur out of fear.
Some Escriman who’ve lived here for generations have fled in fear. Some have lain down and withered in indifference. Some have even joined the interlopers to pillage their own native world in greed.
One Escriman stands apart from the rest, and we follow him. One whose blaze promises neither greed, nor indifference, nor fear – but vengeance! We don the tusked masks, and perform the ritual of our ancestors, debasing ourselves before the cairn of dry bones. Observing the rites The One secures an interloper in a one handed grip. The last rays of the setting sun glimmer on the kukri’s polished blade raised high above his head. We surround him as supplicants charged with anticipation. The sun falls beneath the horizon, and the blade descends, hesitates, and splatters the dry bones with fresh blood. Lifeless, the infidel’s corpse drops to the ground. We paint one another with the dripping gore, and arm ourselves with scythes of sharpened bone. The One springs from his perch and disappears into the twilight. We howl through our death masks and follow.
The hunt begins.
Descending on the colony of the interlopers we slay. None are spared. Soon the entire settlement is set aflame and shadows of the Bone Hunters can be seen flickering through the streets. In the center of this place The One stops, kneels, and bows his head. We erect a new cairn of fresh bones to honor him, adorning it with the grisly trophies of our conquest. The One steps forward once more – his blaze growing new shapes and whorls before our very eyes – and he consecrates this shrine to our homeland. For Parangiso.
